musings...Memories...people...art & Writing

Working in watercolor, acrylics, publishing, design...and whimsy, I've painted and taught for 26 years and can't begin to count my encounters with extraordinary places and inspiring people.
I've certainly learned about strong composition and color in art and in life. But what I use the most is a large supply of panache and aplomb that are in my paint box (and sometimes in my suitcase, too). There's not a single art degree to be found.

Somewhere along the way I captured a gutsy, spirited sense of play in working with paint while still being a traditionalist. It makes the humbling, glorious world of art and even art history more human, tangible and...well, surprisingly fun. Sometimes that surprise is in making art, but it is always about creativity, about life and people.
Every time ego and rules get in my way, nothing seems to work.
Every time I simply make art, it heals me.
If you enjoy these pages. would you please let me know what you think? And maybe one day we'll be on the same path where we might spend some time talking about art-making and living our surprises and journeys. Especially the ones that haven't happened yet. Oh!...and let's paint.

I'll gladly send my full resume about fine art. juried events, awards and teaching, and art licensing, too. But maybe you'll just like what you see.
Enjoy the journey...
